What do you do for entertainment at your BBQs?

Now obviously beyond simply drinking and enjoying each others company I was wondering what everyone does at their BBQs for entertainment. During the Fall and Winter months I always have the fire pit out and people love to just sit around the fire and talk. Now that its warm out I'm trying to come up with a similar idea that will keep people occupied. Maybe throwing horseshoes, bean bags or some other type of game that is fun and relaxing.

Wish I had a pool, but in DC having a pool actually lowers the value of your house.

Any thoughts guys?

We've been having fun playing croquet. Just don't drink too much and then hand out hammers.

Mud, Being from NoVa (close to DC) we don't have a lot of land in our development so we can't really play lawn games. We have a raised deck that is pretty good size and we bought a cheap 10'x10' gazebo for it from Target to keep the deck cool in the summer. I find that the sun lovers sit out under the gazebo and chat, while others end up breaking out the Wii and Rock Band. I find most of the "older" generations of friends like to play the Wii, while the "younger" guests flock to playing Rock Band. We also usually hire our babysitter to come and watch over the kids in the basement playing with toys and watching movies. With the party in three distinct area's it helps to break things up a bit and allows folks to walk around and mingle.

i bought two camps instead of the fancy house, boating fishing, cruising.

shoes is always good, firepit is good, gazebo is good, the outdoor bar is very good, we eat fried seafood and have a hot oil fondue setup so guests can fry their own appetizers while drinking and talking.

We do a lot of lawn games (horse shoes, croquet, badminton, polish golf...) and most always have a fire to set around.
These, a few appetizers and the “bar” (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) seem to keep folk occupied and happy.

If you really some entertainment.

At my place what always seems to happen is all the ladies hang out inside and all the men stay outside around the cooker and drink beer. Were pretty simple I guess.

We used to play that all the time, but we always knew it as "Pass the trash" 3 stacks of money, dealers call, somtimes quarters, sometimes dollars, even played it once with $5 stacks...mind you this was just family nickel and dime poker night...it's a lot of fun..

we all had our quarters jar years ago, simple game to teach, directions on that site seem wrong, you couldn't trade past the king and the person to the left of the king started passing left again. was played alot in my old neighborhood, alot of late nights

And we also didn't reveal the king until the person to the right tried to pass, and then we would show the king....still got my quarter jar for holidays....it was great when the whole family lived close enough that we could play once a week...
