Smoked Ribeye??

I keep hearing ads on the radio from a local BBQ joint claiming the best smoked ribeye around.
I've never heard of smoked ribeye before and was wondering if anyone has ever tried smoking one. If so any details or tips would be greatly appreciated.
Sear? No Sear? If so, do you sear before or after smoking? Do the cuts need to be extra thick? Temp during smoking? etc. etc.

Sure, I do it all the time.
I usually warm a thick steak at 250deg indirect to within a few degrees of the desired final temp. Then I sear the steak on a CI grid on the spider. During the roasting phase, I often add wood chips. -

I do all rib roasts at 250. I sear at the end if they need it but they usually don't. Steaks should perform the same way.

We do it the same way but sometimes sear in a CI skillet when a little extra sear is desired by someone. The pan will give an all-over sear quickly.
