Going to Memphis, gonna get some ribs

I am headed to Memphis in May to do the tourist things. One of the things on my list is to compare my "Memphis Style Ribs" to the best ribs in Memphis. Where to go? It looks like there are many choices. Central BBQ looks interesting with pulled pork and sides from scratch but Charlie Vergos', Corky's, Cozy Corner and Germantown Commisary all look interesting too. We are only going to be there 3 days so at most I can get the group to eat BBQ twice. What to do?? Looking forward to some input!

Ribs are good but I would also suggest BBQ spaghetti at Neeley's, banana pudidng at the commisary and BBQ chicken (or pork) nachos at the Rendezvous. -
Definitely Charlie Vergo's Rendevouz and Germantown Commissary! Just don't take yo momma, as I would hate to see what would happen to you when you slapped her after tasting their ribs! :pinch: At least that is what their tag line is! :laugh:

NOOOO! Not Rendezvous!!!!!!! Taste isn't bad - but seriously dried out ribs!! WAY over-hyped! Truly. Couple of years ago, I spent 2 days in Memphis - ate Q for every meal. LOL Rendezvous was the only one I wasn't thrilled with.
Hoss should have some good recommendations.I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Thanks, the main course will be ribs so I don't want to waste time on bad ones. Might even drop in some of the other places and take some to go for comparison.

Stay AWAY from the Rendevous.TOURIST TRAPP!
The BEST Q joints in town are dives in places that you should NOT take women or children to ANYTIME and should avoid yourself after dark. :( The ones listed should be fine for anyone,but FAR from the BEST in Mempho. -
I live just south of Memphis(20 mins).Shoot me an e-mail and I will be happy to discuss in DETAIL. BTW,you HAVE to order the ribs DRY for true Memphis style ribs.
