Tri-tip smells X-tra beefy?

Trader Joe's right out of the vacuum pack...smell kinda walloped me more than usual. It's dissapated some. Dated April 15. Whada'ya think? Is it probably ok?

Tractor,

Tri tips, flaps, hangers are bloody steaks and they often have an odour when you take them out the cryovac. Rinse in cold water and try the nose test again

Should be fine - tri tip is one of the "beefiest" (is that a word) cuts. The flavor (flavour to JB) is outstanding.

that's very much an "enzyme" smell.

if you don't puke, it's fine. hahaha
the enzyme smell is what you want, it's semi-aged (wet aged). if it's bad, it would smell totally different. there is no guessing when meat goes bad
