Big Green Egg - EGGhead Forum - The Ultimate Cooking Experience...
We’re feeling pretty super, how about you? The big game is fast approaching, and while we love football, we love an excuse to invite people over and cook even more! You too can cook like a champion with recipes from Dr. BBQ’s NFL Gameday Cookbook: Grilled Tuna Sandwiches from Seattle and Baked Brie from New England. Who’s going to win? You’ll have to cook both to find out.

Waldorf Eggfest Throwdown !!!!!

edited November -1 in EggHead Forum
Just got off the phone with Daaa Mayooor and we were shooting around ideas for the upcoming fest...in the past there was a brownie throwdown between Egret and Spawn..it turned out to be a lot of fun......would any of you planning on attending have an interest in having a throwdown this year??? If so what food item would you like to throwdown...if we can get a couple eggers willing to compete and some willing judges we can easily make this happen...Let me know what ya think...It looks like I will be doing the Egging 101 class again this year and possibly a rib demo also....

    Hey Wess.
I know this sounds simple but how about ABT's.
There are so many variations and styles.
I'm thinking stuffing peppers with Crown Royal basted grilled shrimp with pepper jack cheese wrapped with bacon...

Thats a great suggestion...lets see what others have to say...I'm not trying to run this throwdown, so to speak...merely opening it up to have interested members get a throwdown challenge started....as you did here..

    No, I have not.
It's the one I have always wanted to visit.
Next year we are going to skip the locals and try a new one.
Every person I have talked with said Waldorf Eggfest is great. From the Friday night Captain Billy's Seafood Dinner it only gets better.
If you have a chance you should give it a go.

I'd love to go, but it's only 2 weeks after OKC and my wife would probably kill me! Wess, maybe you can relate to this. I retired last year, but my wife still works :woohoo:

Is there anything that you consider a "specialty" of yours that you just know noone can make better than you do...and you're willing to throw out a challenge on...let us know....whoever throws out the first idea that draws a challenge will be considered Game On..plus that will give everyone a chance to do some practice cooks prior to Eggfest...

A throwdown is a great idea, IMO. And, I oughta know after winning two last year from some of the stiffest competition on the planet!! :woohoo: Seriously, it does add a lot of interest and would be welcomed by all (at least by most of all). You could do a "blind" throwdown whereby the suckers......er, I mean contestants wouldn't know what the secret ingredients were ahead of time........

That would be more along the lines of Iron Egg Chef..kinda leanin towards a "Bobby Flaymer" throwdown...where all contestants are cookin the same thing..may the best win...you are more than welcome to suggest a food to challenge..
