What an unbelievable fest! The weather ended up being perfect, the crowd size was perfect, and the folks that showed were...well...EGGERS! I've never seen a fest that ran so flawless; from the registration, to the vending, to the amount of eggs to cook on, and the food we all ate. The fest was the most kids friendly fest yet!
We also had some wonderful new young cooks who absolutely impressed me, and they were both girls! Helen, Avocado's daughter cooked like a little whirlwind. And Dakota, a young lady I met last year in Ocala(9 yrs old) put out more deliscious food then some of the adult seasoned cooks. These two young ladies will both have their own cooking shows someday! I'm so proud of both of them.
A huge THANKS goes out to Mike & Sabrina, and Tim & Michelle, and all of their minions who helped at this fest, the best fest I have attended by far. These folks worked their bottoms off to ensure our good time, unbelievable how everything ran so smooth. We' will be back next year, For sure!

I've stayed quiet through all the posts and pictures but I have to ask - where was egret? I know he's thin and may have been standing sideways in a picture and therefore couldn't be seen, but I'm surprised of no sightings.

RRP, he was there I saw him and we exchanged the secret handshake. The reason that you don't see him in any pictures is the large crowd of people he had around his table fighting for the HAM :woohoo:

Egrets chili was a big hit but he felt under the weather towards the end of the day and missed the afterparty. He did send the ham and smoked cheese down with Mainegg and it was devoured,,, well some of it disappeared before it made the parking lot
  • there's one pic of him that i saw...

I'll post a pic later, I'm still traveling. egret's chili was 3 alarm and I had to drink 3 extra beers afterwards.

Big Un - Thanks for the kind words my friend! It was a TRUE team effort but SO many! We're taking a few weeks off before even THINKING about next year.
CONGRATULATIONS on your Iron Chef win! Every team did such a great job! Hope it was fun for you! :)

Wish I knew who the guy was, he brought over his home brew, a smokey porter, was outstanding. Then I got into the free beer offered to cooks....the fest was so well organized, thanks to Mike and Tim! I was buring off the beer as fast as I could drink it, so much action going on. And egrets chili...I needed to put the fire out but it tasted great, he's a fantastic cook. :cheer:
  • Clay, that was Brewmaster. He eggs his malt and then makes the beer. He local here in Melbourne but I met him for the first time on Saturday. Although I'm not a fan of porter's, it was good and I would drink it again.

Normally Egret is a perfectionist. He really slipped when watching over EgginDawg and Sparky! :woohoo: That is one thankless task. I'd rather be on clean up duty.
