My Spin on FL Fest........

is nothing but piling on to what has already been posted. The setup, weather, food, company, BEVERAGES, just everything was perfect. I had a blast. Thanks to the organizers, distributors, hotel personnel, and weatherman for a job well done. There are so many great folks to mention by name to thank but I refrain to mention them all now lest I forget somebody- you KNOW who you are. My suggestion, don't change a darn thing. The size of this event was just right, not too big and not too small.
It was great meeting new friends and visiting old ones. As far as pictures go- be on the lookout for some posts from Sparky probably later today as he was the "official" photographer for room 279.
Sparky and I would like to thank all of those folks who donated ingredients to us so we could cook something- literally off the seat of our pants since we came to the fest commando. Pat, Jan, Kim, Sheri, and whomever else I neglected here- you saved our BACON.
Sparky will post some photos of the "dump" we created and served. I heard it was edible?!
Anyway...........Counting the days to next year! :woohoo:

Great seeing you again Brian. I'm glad you got home safe and sound. A pretty early flight for you, huh?! Losing the hour didn't help I'm sure.

Ted, My folks are still laughing about you guys! Dad will just laugh and shake his head and say..
"nothing... they had nothing but a hunk of meat and they begged borrowed and stole to stuff it and it was the prettiest thing there!"
They really enjoyed cooking next to you guys and watching you. and all the people that made them feel welcome and did not tell any stories about me thank you LOL -
Good times Ted. I missed the hookup with Todd so email me your address and I'll get the wok out this week.

I know you guys created that recipe on the fly, but it was great! I attempted a knock off for tonight's dinner based on what I remembered. Pictures should be up in a few. Thanks for the idea! (I'm still waiting for the real recipe to be available, but our knock off version was awesome, too!)

Ted, it was wonderful meeting you at the fest. So nice to put a face to a name. You and Sparky (Spiderman) have to give me some pointers on how to do an awesome last minute cook! It tasted great. Thanks for helping at the prep party.

It was great seeing you Ted. I'm looking forward to Doug's pictures. He said he took 600!!! I hope he doesn't cause the forum to go down.

Sorry it took so long Ted,here's those pics of that mighty fine meat that we made(with a little help from everyone) BTW:We still need to send Egret the recipe I forget what we did :pinch:

Mmmmmm, it looked as good as it tasted!
I thought the stuff in the middle was cream cheese, but now it looks more orange than I remembered. What was that stuff?
Great job on the impromptu eggin! -

LOL Okay, so I guessed pretty close, then! I used vegetable cream cheese and added italian herb blend, so it was pretty close. Thanks!
