My wife did it up right. My first good knife was the Shun 8" classic chef's knife so today I received the 3 1/2" paring knife...I love it! It did make me realize it's time to send the chef's knife in for sharpening but the OKC eggfest is right around the corner so I might as well buy another.

Little Chef, I think you sent me a link for the blade protectors....German sounding name that I think starts with an M I believe.

I also got one of those cool cutting boards that has a cutting surface made of compressed paper so it's supposed to be knife friendly without harboring bacteria and is dishwasher safe.
