slicing meat with a slicer - any advice?

Any advice for slicing some bacon tomorrow? I've been curing it for about 8 days now, going to smoke it in the morning and slice when done. Any tips? like for grinding you want the meat firm (almost frozen)?

borrowed a friends slicer so this is my fist time
