Maverick ET-73-Very Kewl!

I got my Maverick ET-73 from Parts Shelf and got it for a great price! I am using it to cook a beef roast and it is simply amazing. I am able to sit here on my couch, type on my computer and simply monitor my cook without even getting up. I can tell the temp of the meat and the grid temp. This is really kewl.
Based on some comments by others I wrapped the cables with tinfoil and made sure that they were led out of the egg over the plate setter legs. I am hoping this unit lasts longer than the cheap ones that I have bought where I had nothing but trouble!
Thanks everybody for the input!

Alright, Good for you! :cheer: Tim

Thanks! It worked like a charm! And in my usual bone-headed dumb as a sack of hammer ways i tried to pull it out of the meat with a pair of tongs and slipped and stripped some of the metal jacket of the meat probe! Pay $12 and here's your sign!

If probe is fried Maverick will replace for free (or atleast they did last time I fried one). Just mailed it back and they replaced it. Has directions and address in direction manual

Thanks. I think it will work still. Will find out on my next lo and slo, prob monday. i start a 3 night tour of duty...

Why not take some high temp silicone "in a tube" gasket gunk and pull the braided metal jacket / shield back like it came and silicone back in place.
p.s. how much did your Maverick ET-73 cost you? -
