Been using DP rubs for most of my cooks and they are great and taste really good. Looking for a change of taste in the bark of my BB's and Butt's and hope someone will share a homemade recipe for a good rub. Thanks guys and gals.

For ribs I use salt, pepper, cayenne, and mint. -RP

A classic Que rub is equal parts salt, pepper, sugar, & paprika. Tweek to taste...adding garlic powder, subbing brown sugar, adding cayenne, etc, etc, etc
-
Gator's homemade rub looks like a winner

I've been stuck on Dr. BBQ's Sweeter Big-Time Barbeque Rub from his Big-Time BBQ Cookbook, -
Thanks for the feedback....have very little confidence when it comes to eggsperimenting on my own. Enjoy getting help from the folks on this forum.

Here are two I like to use here at dad's Kitchen...

1 t. brown sugar
1/2 t. salt

1/4 t. cayenne pepper
Northwood's Mop Sauce:

I am still tweaking this , but the following is pretty good. Keep any left over rub in an air tight container for future use.
LoneStarEgg Rub
1 Cup Brown Sugar
1 TBS Coarse Black Pepper
1 TBS Paprika
2 TBS Granulated Garlic
1 TBS Onion Powder
1 TBS Kosher Salt
1 TBS Montreal Steak Seasoning
2 TBS Peach Gelatin (Jell-O)
2 Tsp Ground Coriander
Measure all ingredients into a gallon zip lock bag, seal trapping some air inside and shake to mix.
My wife doesn’t like it spicy, but for a little more Zip, Add:
1 TBS Cayenne Pepper
1 TBS Chili Powder -
Thanks to LoneStar and everyone else....Bob
