Spring eggfest in Peoria, IL

Today our dealer, Hearth & Patio in Peoria, IL announced a cabin fever shakin Spring Eggfest to be held Saturday, March 6th. It will be held regardless of rain, shine, snow whatever. They said more details to follow, but also announced eggs used that day will be discounted so you might want to join us. BTW they are still planning to have their 8th annual Eggfest in June and will be getting their banner on the BGE board.

Randy, no - this is a special one - their normal one which will be their 8th annual eggfest is always the first Saturday in June, so this year that will be June 5th.

I'd like to make one or both of those fests. Cori's sister lives in Pekin, so I'm sure I won't have any problems convincing her to make it down there for at least one of the fests.

Count me in! What are the times? What all happens at an actual eggfest, anyway? Do we bring eggs and cook or do we sample other designated person's cuisine?

Time and details to be announced later - they just wanted to get on egger's calenders since it's coming up real soon. Eggfests differ in different parts of the country, but the ones held here require no attendance fee and you only need to register with them if you intend to cook using one of their eggs. You are certainly welcome to bring your own BGE. If you cook then you are also agreeing to pay for and bring your own food to share. For doing so they give you a 20# bag of lump - last year it was the Wicked Good brand. As for what you do - it's talking with each other, sharing food and just a laid back good time. Adult beverages are permitted. At this one because it is more regional there is no before fest nor any after fest fest. BTW where do you live?

And once September rolls around, Dano, jump on I-80 and head east to Oswego for Eggwegofest (yet to be scheduled, I believe). Several of the Peoria-area gang head up for that festival as well.

We are doing 10% off eggs and accessories, the same as our June 5th eggfest. We are planning on about 10 eggs this time instead of the normal 20+ that we do in June. It's a great chance to get your first egg or any accessories you don't have yet at a discounted price. More than anything, it's just a lot of fun with good people.

It should be a great way to start Spring!
