Or not?

I would if you have an extra grid. Wouldn't worry too much about it if you don't, just have to watch them a bit closer.

I say yes, and wings are one thing I have gotten pretty good at if you ask my kids! I also have gone direct only, although some like to cook them indirect. I just like the finish better direct.
With the turning required, it is faster and easier if grill raised (allows you to open and close egg faster). Also moderates the heat a little better. Good luck! Cooking 3 or 4 dozen myself today :woohoo: .
CLARIFICATION - When I say raised, I mean off of the fire ring (I raise grate to same level as top of the bottom half of Egg. YOu can do this with bricks or other methods).

I grill mine raised 400° direct.
In this pic I have the ci grate raised 2 inches then the grate extender. That may be a little high but it depends on how fast and how crispy you want your wings to be. Tim

I do mine direct. One thing I also do is to put the wings on bamboo skewers to I do not have to turn each wing individually. I can usually fit 7 or 8 pieces per skewer.

I do my raised direct at about 400. Others do theirs indirect. I like the idea about the skewers Tarpon65.
Thunderbunny, I couldn't resist since you asked a question:
"If they can get you asking the wrong questions, they don't have to worry about the answers."

I do mine indirect at the felt line, seems to work pretty well. As someone said yesterday, "It's just chicken."

TB, if you don't have a raised grid, you could cook them indirect (e.g., with plate setter or drip pan). This will help you to control the temperature which is the main purpose of the raised grid.

Got snow Rebecca?? :woohoo: -
Server crashed right in the middle of me doing that post.
It was something about using less lump to keep the meat further away from the fire. Instead of raising the grid you lower the heat source, creating the same effect. It was sheer genius, but lost in the sands of time forever.
Oh well. -
If you read the two posts in succession, it is sheer genius.
