Do you guys cook spatchcock chicken at the felt line or higher?.
I got my AR and spider this week and i want to do a spatchcock im just not sure what level to do it on.
at the felt line, top level of the AR ?
Maybe i'll throw some new potatoes in a alum pan splash with some EVOO and season and do those on the top level put the chickens on the lower level
I plan on going direct at about 400 degrees

I do up in dome with the AR direct.Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Plus a couple Pit Boss Pellet Smokers.

do it on a raised grid. will turn out wonderful. i put mine skin side down for about 10 mins and then turn over. gives a crisper skin.
Large egg and mini max egg plus a Blackstone griddle

Raised grid at 400 should do nicely. Make sure to check temps, but it should cook in about an hour.
Good luck,

The higher you can get it, the crispier you'll be able to get the skin. Some even put the grid (grill?) extender on top of the AR to get it even higher up.

Top level of the rig will be fine. Cook it at 400 direct.
