Pork butt cooking time

I have cooked several 8 or 9 pound butts. They are usually done in 16 to 18 hours. How much extra cooking time should I add for cooking two at the same time? Thanks.

If the butts are not touching each other, they will cook as if they were alone. If they are touching, they will take as much time as if they were one big piece. Eventually they will shrink, and start cooking as seperate pieces.

if you dont change your setup or temps its the same cook, 16 to 18 hours plus/minus.fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

You need to drop this myth. As they cook they shrink and separate. Unless you have glued them together somehow they will NOT cook as one big piece.

Just the amount of time it takes you to prep and put the second butt on the egg.

Thanks for all the responses.
