let me start by saying leveling a fire at 160-180 deg was not the easy for me. I lit my fire and got stable at 200 deg three times. what I read and understand was that I needed to be a little lower. so less air was my solution. lost my fire on all attempts. so not a very successful 1st jerky attempt. I only closed bottom vent a sliver. a small sliver. acccepting any and all advice.wounded but not out!!!!
