Roasted Garlic Tri Tip

Howdy...
Somehow i had a craving for one of those nice Tri Tips in my freezer that made their way over the pond from the US.
Since i dont like to overpower a good meats flavour i just used some roasted garlic, EVOO and fleur de sel as seasoning and grilled the Tri Tip on the small Big Green Egg with some Olive Wood.
Heres a pic after letting it rest for 10 Minutes. Those 10 Minutes were propably the longest of my life as the smell was killing me !
Okay, here we go !
Served it with a nice salad with parmesan and cream cheese stuffed cherry peppers. Good eats !
The flavour and tenderness again was sooo much better than the beef we got over here. Awesome stuff !
So long !

That looks amazing. I cooked up some tritip yesterday to throw into some chili, but that really makes me wish I'd done otherwise!

Don, Great post! The pic's are very good. The last pic looks so delicious. I could take the meat off the fork and eat it! :P Tim

:woohoo: my goodness that looks delicious! I haven't been able to find that cut at Costco. All tri tips are in strips versus a nice "hunk o'cow" like you egged. I really like what you did with the roasted garlic.

I can almost taste that. I bet the smell was incredible.
Very nice cook, thanks for sharing. -

I have done tri tips before but now you have given me some new ideas on how to prepare and cook tri tips in the future. I notice the EGG was set at 250 directly.
Could you have done it indirectly ? What would have been the difference in the cooking of the tri tip ? Not meant to be a dumb question. I have cooked tri tips w/ platesetter and directly and there is a difference.
Thanks.
