Picked up a bunch of very old knives from my mom. Probably 60 or 70+ years old.

They are made of steel and seem to sharpen and hold an edge well.

The issue is they rust very easily.

Do any of you have knives like this and what is your routine for caring for them and keeping the rust at bay.

I have been coating with a bit of vegetable oil but seems there should be a better way.
