The project posted at The Nakid Whiz site is very helpful. I used it as a guide when I built my table. I've been looking at the tables on the forum visitor profiles and wondered why some eggs end up on the right side of the table and some on the left side. My only thought was the man that built the table was either left or right handed.

    007,
Ya know, you are prolly right. Good chance the man is probably either right or left handed. :-))[p]I like my table space on the right and egg on the left, cuz I am right handed....but one thing I found is that I want even more table space on both sides. Just not big enough when you get to settin' stuff down everywhere like I do (instead of putting stuff away).[p]Plans are in the works for a mega-cooking center as soon as the budget allows.
    Beers to you this Friday!
    Chris

Maybe they is all the same..cept some of them was maybe seen in a mirrah. Could be..I mean for years I had somethin what I thought was leanin towards the starboard side..but then I realized..after Beulah done seen me down at the creek and made some funny comment bout this thing..which by the way was parrently slighty insulted..judgin by what it did while she was laughin...it sure got rid of her though..which I suppose was a good thing..I wouldn't wanna hear her gigglin and yellin "down periscope" any more than she did already...anyway..that's when I realized I'da been looking in the mirrah all this time..and that darned thing was leanin towards the port side.[p]That got me to thinkin..why this even was doin any leanin at all..so then I went and asked poppa...you would think I'd know bettah by now..and he done tol me it all depends on which side you sleep on..which at first made a whole lotta sense to me...till I realized it ain't like I start out sleepin on one side..then end up my nights sleep straight on my head. Sometimes I surprised at poppa...you'd think somebody what owned one of these things much longer than me would know more bout it than I would...[p]Ahh..the life of a Stump[p]StumpBaby

007,
Hmmmmmmm, what does this make me? Ambidextrous? By the way, that's Jen on the left and Ben on the right.[p]TNW

    007,
I put my Egg on the right side because I installed a gas grill that had a burner on the left side. Even without the gas grill I think I would have installed the Egg on the right side because it seems more natural there. Good question tho.[p]Spring Chicken

  • 007,
I expaned my BGE table to be bigger on both side, and like Nature Boy says, you can't have enough room, especially if you don't put stuff back. I'm also in the process of building a pool in the back yard and am going to have a mega BBQ area too. My BBQ area should end up being about 22' long and will have a small egg, large egg, wok style side burner, large sink, refrigerator, drawers, doors and unfortunatly one of those stainless steel storage units called a gas grill. Just to keep the little wifey happy. See-Yaa

007,[p]For us the choice was dynamics. Ours is a bricked in enclosure next to the steps on the back patio. I didnt want the hot grill next to the walkway. Placing it on the right side prevents banging into it when carring something by as well.

007,
I prefer the more modular system. Cheap, easily moved, and fits right in on the deck. I have a faucet a few feet to the left of the table for all my cleaning needs.

    007,
Mine is on the left side of the table and I'm right-handed...let's me lift the dome with my left and work with my right.
    Choice is purely personal.
