I mentioned to my dad that I had seen some great food done in DOs on the forum and he said he thought he and mom had one sitting around. Sure enough - he came up with a Lodge 8 for me to have. The interior of the pot had some rust spots and the inside of the lid had a good bit of rust.
After a few hours of work I got it cleaned up. The toughest part was around the metal nubs on the interior of the lid. A run to HD and a small carbon steel dremel tool did the trick. ;)
Below are some shots of before and after. BTW - some good info on DOs at www.dutchovendude.com. I followed the instructions for restoring and seasoning there. I liked the idea that the gasser would be relegated to cleaning things for the bge. :pinch:
So give me some ideas on your favorite DO cooks.
