I live in No. Calif. and am looking forward to building a table for my XL BGE. I see most people on this forum have been using Cypress, Cedar or Red Oak. All of these seem to be difficult/special order out here on the west coast. Has anyone used Redwood?

Redwood would be wonderful. A nice spar varnish as a finish and it'll last a lifetime. Your lucky to have that kinda wood available. Cedar cool but Redwood is way better in my opinion.
