Just come in from hospital. Ms.D is in ICU for overnight. The surgery went well and Dr. Evans was pleased with results. We all visited and talked with her. She had good vital signs and was resting well.
Our Family gives a Big Thanks to all for your Prayers and Good Thoughts.

Glad to hear She is resting comfortably, hopefully she will have a speedy recovery. If Doug Evans is her surgeon she is in expert hands (I thought he was down at MD Anderson). Here's praying for an uneventful rapid recovery, negative margins, and negative nodes!
-
I know her Dr. used to be at M D Anderson, so could be the same person. He went to Milwaukee to create a specialty clinic for her specific cancer.

that is good news our hearts and prayers are with you and her

So glad to hear the surgery went well. Our thoughts and prayers will continue to be sent your way...thanks for keeping the extended family posted.

Tom, Doug Evans "wrote the book" so to speak on surgical resection of pancreatic cancer. He is well versed in vascular resection and grafting as well, which is essential for a complicated resection. Results also depend on a surgeon and institution with a high volume of cases. One of my best friends is a pancreatic surgical oncologist trained at M D Anderson and she said no one could do better! Ms.Diane is in great hands........especially with all the prayer from the forum. By the way.....I need to speak with you sometime.

What you have said is 100% true. He also is one of the nicest people that you would meet. He is one person that is doing what he wants to do and is doing it well.

Sam, you obviously did your homework! Dr. Evans is the top dog surgical oncologist in the US for pancreatic cancer. Not only that, he surrounds himself with an awesome support team. It's alwaly nice when you can combine the technical expertise with caring and compassion! I hope the pathology report returns with favorable results. Prayers to all, especially Ms. Diane.
