Hi All
I am purchasing the Spider from ceramic grill store.
Does anyone have a good idea what my dome temp should be
to sear with the spider? I know it would be lower
than if I had grid in normal position. I sear now
at 6-650. I know I will have to experiment but just
wanted to get some input from people who use the spider.
my 2 cents says 500 might be a good starting point.
thanks any input will help. BulyC

I used the spider tonight & seared @ 450 - worked good. Hopes this helps.

I have a spider and a CI Grid and do mine at around 500°.
It is also really important (in my opinion) to bring the steak up to room temp or hot tub them first. Then you get a great color all the way through just from the sear.
