Going Pyro!

Ok so the cold weather is here and I don't really feel like waiting around to light my egg. I've decided to go pyro and get myself a torch of some kind. My question is simple, do I go out and get MAPP or just a simple weed burner? Apart from cost is there much of a difference? I can get a weed burner for 30$CAD and use a propane bottle that I already have or go all out and get a TS4000 with a bottle of MAPP. Total cost to go MAPP is 60$CAD. What do you eggheads suggest I do?

I use a MAPP, and with a few squirts of 90% rubbing alcohol, it's awesome!!

Hi maXim,
I have the TS8000 and love it. I think it is supposed to be 30% hotter then the TS4000. It is the quickest/cleanest way to light my egg that I have found so far. No more fooling around lighting the egg when those pesky temperatures get below 75º. Brrrrrrrr!

i agree i have the ts8000 the wife just bought another ts8000 for the camper she told me the new one was half the cost of the old one she got it at the big orange hardware store

Go with the mapp. Propane desn't work well in cold temps but mapp is ok.

I bought my mapp torch at Lowes, don't remember cost but it wasn't a bad price works great,

the fastest way is with a weedburner...
next to that that, i use light fresh lump and two paper napkins drizzled lightly with oil. that has me at 650+in fifteen minutes. that's with a light lump, like cowboy. denser lump takes much longer -
