Very thoughtful of you to be thinking of poor old Bear. I too hope he handled it well.
Hopefully L.S. will let us know.

Rebecca,
Bear's paws are too big for him to type this himself. He is fine now after two hours in the shower. Thanks for the concern.

I'm sure the forum members would approeciate an 'after' picutre.

Rebecca,
I'm no dog groomer. Right now he looks kinda like Cameron Diaz in Something About Mary.

Thanks for that visual Steve. I can see her sitting in the restaurant with that little flip in her hair and Martin Short fidgeting in his chair!

Here you go Rebecca. I think he's a little cheesed at me for messing up his coiffure.

No, he really doesn't look all that happy. 2 hours in the shower...what did you use to knock the odor down? Ours caught it full in the face. The smell would come off on your hands for the first couple of weeks, then you could only really smell her if you got close to her. 6 months later you can get a faint odor when she gets wet.LBGE Katy (Houston) TX

Barry,
We called the vet and she said to use a mixture of baking soda, peroxide and Tide laundry detergent. Rinse and shampoo with Pert shampoo. When I put the Pert on him it gave off a chemical smell and rinsed him again. I still used 3 gallons of tomato juice for good measure. He doesn't smell at all now. He isn't the sharpest dog and he may get into it with the skunk again tonight.

Thanks for the 'after' shots Steven. Bear is way too cute! He must not be too upset with you because he appears to be guarding those eggs of yours! :side:

Steven, Bear looks as good as new! He's a handsome pooch!
-
Rebecca,
He's real nice until he stands on your foot.

Ummm hey Steven wasn’t that the same formula I gave you? With the exception of Tide you could also use dish liquid ,, no need for the tomato juice.
Gunner this formula does work but I would be very careful with the peroxide around the dogs eyes. Maybe just get a toothbrush and do the dogs face with not getting to close to the eyes then soak most of it up with paper towels then rinse with water. Anyway it’s worth a try.

Auntie Egger,
Sorry, I should have said Norma called the vet. At the time my eyes were watering too much to read that well. It did work well. SteveSteve
