I'm think I'm finally going to get my first guru. I've got a LBGE. What works best with a LBGE, the Pit runner 4CFM or Pit Viper at 10CFM? I've found,(as recommended on the forum) a small battery fan works better at force feeding air than a larger one and I'm wondering if this will prove true with the DigiQII
Thanks in advance
Thanks in advance

I have the 10 based on the premise that I can throttle a 10 back to a 4 but a 4 can't go to 10.Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

10 cfm it has a little slider door to damp down the opening ,, it is more versitile than the 4

I ran a 4 on my large for a few years with no problem. I now have a 10 and use it on the L and XL. If you go with the 10, I would suggest closing the draft down slightly so you don't overshoot temps.

If you go with the ten, make sure you throttle it back to a quarter moon shape. Otherwise you will draught enough air when it isn't running to overshoot.

Thanks for the responses. I'm really looking forward to sleeping more at night during cooks.

i run a cyberQ and have not had any overshoot.. suggest you pay attention to those with a digi and damp it down

I use the 10 cfm with both my XL and small, never tried it on the mini. As suggested throttle it down. Even with the XL if it is windy too much air will enter and can over shoot the desired temp even with the petals barely open.

I dont do over nite cooks with my LrBGE but the 10cfm fan works great on it.

This is probably because a large fan just pushes lots of air AROUND the egg rather than into it. In the case of the Guru fans all the air is directed INTO the egg so the above small = better doesn't hold.
For a large the concensus seems to be 4 is fine, 10 has more options as you can throttle it back which also gives the benefit of lower natural draft during fan off cycles. -
I have that fan, and use it on all my cookers--S, L, and XL.
