Al, I'm pretty sure Florida Grillin Girl wins this one. If I recall she told me she got her first egg 13 or 14 yrs. ago. I'm only at a little over a year :(

Yep....I met Florida Grillin Girl about a month ago when she was in town for eggfest.....she told me 13 years. I'm about a year and a half.
  • Also 3 years. 2nd egg - 1mos.

But used my Father in laws Kamado for years before that.... Had my first turkey on his ceramic cooker coming from Asia somewhere the year before I married my wife which was 19 yrs ago... Probably did my first on his ceramic cooker maybe 15 yrs ago...

Just coming up on 12 years.

Still have the old style hinge on mine, you know, the one where you have to pull the little handle to close?
  • Carey,

My first did too but the dealer replaced it when the new ones came out. People couldn't resist trying to close it when it was locked. I'll be twelve years in May.

Is this continuous ownership or does the Kamado I bought in SE Asia circa '68 and had for about 5 years count?

Got a large in '02 and a small in '06. Seven years is the real answer.
