Reducing Ring for XL BGE

I was looking to reduce the amount of charcoal required to cook for only four people on the XL BGE. Had some old stainless steel beer kegs behind my shop and cut them with a chop saw. The keg is approximately 15" in diameter. I cut the ring 4" tall. Although not very thick, the ring is very strong and shows no ill effects from the high temps. Keeps its shape. You can also cut these with a hand grinder and metal cutting blade. Be careful when cutting! The ring works great.

Great idea.
The other nice use is to push it to one side or the back and being able to cook direct and indirect at the same time. I also center one for use with my Wok.

Check out the CERAMIC GRILL STORE. Tom has a couple Lump Reducers for the XL. I use it all the time.
