Got a few quail (no...I didn't shoot them...I bought them... ;) ). Richard FL posted a while back with quail wrapped in bacon. Well....liking my quail breast more to the medium stage, I decided to do this experiment.

I removed the legs and wings, and split the breasts:

Then I wrapped the little legs in bacon:

Onto the egg, direct, 400*

Put the breasts on when the legs were nearly done.

All done.

The legs were a bit overcooked where they weren't covered with bacon, but these were very tasty!! And yes, those little burnt offerings are the tiny wings... I love to eat them when they are super crispy.

All in all a successful cook, though I will cover the legs a bit better next time. ;) The breasts though were quite perfect.

Thanks for looking! :)
