On my 3rd product from Lowes now and getting kinda tierd of doing this. Could someone recomend a caulk theyve used that I could find that wont crumble within a month of use. Ive used 3 diff kinds of high heat fireplace chimney caulk. Last was rated to 2000 degrees sure it didnt burn up at the 600 degree sears, but within a month it drys up and crumbles off when touched. Thanks in advance for your time and effort in helping...Waited about 6 months between time 2 falling off and putting up product 3 just out of being pig headed, but its not prudent for temp control and lump re-use.....Matt

i always thought it was simple clear silicone caulk (not high temp).

I use 100% silicone, clear. GE makes it and DAP, should be able to pick up a tube at your local hardware.
Be sure it's 100% silicone and your good to go.

Agree with Clay, I use just regular 100% silicone, and mine has held up for over 2 years, and no signs of breakdown.
