Hello.......my name is hizzoner.....and I'm an Egg-a-holic.
I was recently talked into an Egg by some friends. I couldn't be happier so far.
I bought my egg and built a place for it. Here is what I did:
I started with a deck to place my new cooker:
then I built a cabinet to hold the Egg (Thanks nakedwhiz)
Then my oh-so-talented grandfather built my cabinets:
I placed the Egg:
Then we built my return that holds my burners:

That is awesome! I really like the covered area. Wish I had a place for that...

this past weekend was the Texas dove season opener which is a national evenet (at least at my house). So I tackled a few Boston butts to be cooked for 30 folks..

SWhat do you have covering the top to prevent water from getting in
-
I'm not the forum police, but it looks like the table top (hole) is very close to the egg. You should have about a 3/4" gap all the way around it. Mine has about 1/2 inch and while doing a clean burn I noticed some "browning" of my table top and scared the crap out of me and shut'er down. I made the opening a little bigger.
Great cooking area and way to go on getting an egg. Looks like you snuck in a couple gas burner cooktops in that last picture. -
I also miscalculated on the area for the hinges and had to notch them out

finished.....

So, Why isn't there a mess of dove on the Egg? :woohoo: Looks like good living and good times.

Very Nice! Very nice indeed!

I used a galvinized roof vent that I bought at home depot. Someone else posted it once and I copied it.

My house here in San Diego would fit on that deck...
OK, I exaggerate. But seriously, nice yard and GREAT deck.
