Will the Tel-Tru thermometers recommended as a replacement for the stock BGE thermometer fit through the thermometer hole in a large BGE dome or do you have to drill the hole larger for the Tel-Tru to fit?

The tel-Tru thermometers are good. Read the Naked Whiz's web page on which Tel-Tru to buy.

The one that was recommended only goes to about 500 degrees according to the picture on the website. Isn't that too low?Visit my blog, dedicated to my Big Green Egg Recipies at http://www.bigtsbge.blogspot.com You can also follow my posts on FaceBook under the name Keep On Eggin' or the link http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Keep-On-Eggin/198049930216241
