This turned out better than I expected.I have never used Balsamic vinegar before in a cook with beef.
Tomatoes from the garden.
[IMG]http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x155/77mallard/002-35.jpg
Got Egg to 700 degrees steady.
Four minutes per side.
One of my favorite plates.
Dumped the sauteed sh rooms and onions on top.
Time to eat.

I sure like that CI grid/grate--where did it come from?

I bought that at Home Depot about two years ago.It is made by one of the top grill manufactures out there and for the life of me I can't remember their name. But what is neat about it is that it is adjustable to fit any anything. When I first posted it on the forum the main comment was that it would expand and possibly crack the Egg.But you can slide the grate in and out to fit whatever and on my large there is at least a quarter of a inch on each side.No way in he-- it could expand that much.If it did the Egg would have blown up.The price was about $30.00.

You know, Bill, there ARE some naysayers on this forum, but they have a constitutional right to say "nay" so I just think "bless their hearts." Your own trial and error is your best teacher.
I'm going to try and track that down because a full CI grill is pretty heavy for my hands. But oh, I love a good steak!

Hi Pat.
Check out a small local grocer or butcher in your area and he should be able to cut some up for you.It is next to the top blade roast just behind the shoulder.Good luck. The mass merchandisers won't know what you are talking about because they only know what comes in a cry o vac package. -
Here you go Judy.Took me one hour to find it.This thing works like a champ.

You can really get nasty with that and remove the fire ring and get that puppy one inch above the lava coals.Hope this helps.

It says online my local Lowe's has it in stock. We'll see-I'm going tonight, and I'll keep you informed. Get my e-mail? We crossed web links!

Your ears must be burning. The forum was down and I checked in with Comcast and here I am again. That is the unit made by Char Broil and I hope you put it to good use.As I mentioned a few back if you remove the fire ring you can get that steak on top of the coals.Hope you have some good cooks with it.

I love fresh rosemary, and love the flatiron cut. Haven't put them together before. Looks fabulous...
