May be over kill.
40lbs may be hyperbole, it was 4 butts

And a home made mango sauce which was killer. Most of the ingredients for it came from the garden[organic].

    I would have expected the meat to make the temp cooler not warmer then.

    Mango sauce:
    2 ripe mangos(i'm in ny so not from my garden)
    2 tomatoes(garden)
    1 green pepper, 1 red pepper garden
    1 habenero garden
    cumin,garlic,red onion, tyme,tamarind paste,cider vinegar,molasses,brn sugar, some other spices i don't recall.

    bell peppers and tomatos were charred on sbge with apple wood, then skinned and gutted.

    then simmered everything up, and finally tossed it in the blender. was going to add ginger but forgot that. oh, and a cinnamon stick
