How much lump

On my previous long cooks, I have filled the egg beyond the firebox and an inch or so up the fire ring. I am planning a 5 butt cook and, working with what I have I am planning on removing the fire ring, putting the plate setter on the box leggs up, CI grid on that with firebricks and standard grid on that.

Does this sound like it will work as far as air flow and available space for lump. I use Royal Oak.

If this sounds risky I still have time to buy another egg toy.
