Feet definitely !!!!!
I have posted these on the forum many times and will post them here per loco_engr's request and hope they help avoid a potential problem for others. There was always a debate as to weather you needed the feet or not and I was always the one on the no feet side,,,until I went to refinish the table. Not sure how long before I had a fire or the egg just fell through the table I just know if would have happened eventually. Here are the before and after pics.

I'm just glad I caught it in time, by pure dumb luck. Here is the end result after refinishing
