With the Plate Setter, does it take longer for the EGG to cool down ? My EGG os now at 200 and the wings were taken off and the vents closed at 6:30pm pst.

I've noticed it does and I' guessing its due to more ceramic/thermal mass that has to cool off.

Yes.

I was going to give a really smart ass answer to what should be an obvious answer, but I get enough ribbing for my mensa card...
hmmmm I guess that was a smart ass answer.. I am happy now.. -
If I need my egg to cool down, I take it apart so it will cool faster. Sometimes I get tired of watching it for 3 hours to get below 200. If I have the time I don't mind watching.

Considering my Egg do a lot of traveling if I didn't take them apart I'd be living on military bases..

If the legs are up it will cool down quicker.

I may be strange, but I enjoy sitting outside watching the temp come down.

If you are really wanting to cool the egg down, take the platesetter out. You also need to take the hot coals out and leave the egg wide open. It will cool quickly.

What better way than to spend after eating and washing everything down with a few lagers :woohoo: -
I think mike meant the plate setter legs up not yours. :-)

My mistake. :woohoo:
