Bad Butt?

I thawed a 7.5 lb butt six days ago. It's been sitting in the fridge ever since. It's never been removed from its crylovac pack. Have I waited too long to smoke it? If not, how much more fridge time can I chance?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

Just thawed some pork chops and was in fridge 5 days, ate them last night. Not sick yet.

Man that's a hard call. I have done the same thing with the same questions.
Where yours has been in cryovac I would remove, rince and dry. If there is no off smell probably go ahead and cook it.
BTW, mine was not in cryovac, I ended up tossing it.

Thanks guys,
I guess I won't chance it. It was only $.88 a lb. I hate wasting food, but I hate ptomaine-time even more.
