Huge Mistake

I made the big big biggggg mistake of saying the following in front of my 16 year old daughter yesterday " according to what I read on the Egghead forum ...."

She is now making fun of me at every turn. I am now thinking of withholding any "EGGED" food from her.

Kids ... lol ...

My wife has not made any comment. She loves the food to much to say anything. I can see that she is wanting to wade in, but has not to this point.

I take it that you've not learned the fine art yet of not saying ANYTHING in front of a teenage daughter!!! I bet this was a good first lesson!!!!

I've only had my Egg about 3 weeks now and my wife takes every opportunity to call me an Egghead. I showed her a previous post of mine with pics from a cook the other night and she said "you are definitely an egghead". But she loves the food... no complaints there.

Hate to break this to you, but there is nothing you can say to a 16 year old daughter that she is going to believe. I tried to teach one of mine to drive, while she was explaining to me that I didn't know what I was talking about, she let her foot off the brake. I yelled at her to stop but she decided the peddle she was pushing didn't work so she hit the accelerator. She took out the post that held up our carport. I ended up hiring someone to teach my last two to drive. -RP

It took me about 16 hrs to total my first car. Once I got my license. Sleet and snow had the roads pretty slick....which I didn't care.
  • At 16 they are 10' tall and bullet proof. I got junior a nice truck(first mistake)with some serious cool factor. Rule #1 = NO ONE RIDES IN THE BED. Rule #2 = Be careful it is top heavy and can roll over so no horse assin. Thinking he would actually listen (second mistake) Two weeks to the day Einstein rolled the truck with another kid in the bed. Nearly killed the kid. Its a wonder I have a pot to pi$$ in. Totaled the truck put one in the hospital for a week and he still thinks I am full of sheit. :ermm: They need to raise the legal age to 30 maybe by then they will remove their head from their rear. Like RP said there is nothing you can say that they will believe. I really did like that truck, I should have kept it for myself(third mistake).:(
  • From presonal get her a 1987 Olds 98 for the first year. It will take a licking and keep on ticking. If it gets beat up mount tires for bumpers all the way around the car.
  • I hate it when that happens.

patience tony.. my kids used to make fun of my forum addiction and my egg obcession . younger one has come to two fests and a competition with me and the older one may come to this weeks comp and has been making dinner for us sunday nights on the egg.. your daughter will come around.. won't belong before she will be asking you to make pizza or whatever for her and her friends

or than again you could make her favorite meal on the egg for you and your wife and give her a luke warm hot dog on a soggy bun

My 9 year old son is the same way. The other night he walked by me and looked at the computer screen and said "AGAIN!, you are obsessed". Oh well, I guess I am and no one in the family complains when we sit down to eat.

You have to turn it around on her. Make fun of her about Facebook, Myspace, Barbie Dolls, Jonas Brothers, Twitter, hey if you can, tell her you will take her cell phone away! Geez kids these days.
