Hi! My name is Ed and I am from PA. I am a brand new egghead. I picked up a XL BGE yesterday. I heard so many good things. Well I just fired her up and drop some Baby backs on there. I have to say, holy moly!! I have never had such temp response to open and closing the vents!! This is awesome!!!! I look forward to sucking you dry of knowledge and recipe and hope to be able to return the favor!!!

You will find this forum the best resource for anything you ever need to know, just ask and there is a nearly instant response. Grampa grub posts a great list of sites that contain all the things that eggers should ever need to know here.

Welcome....WATCH the DVD...the lower vent is for big adjustments..the daisy wheel is for more fine adjustments..you may gain some knowledge from website linked below..for sure from the Naked Whiz website..

Thanks all for the great welcome!!! I will definitely check out the links. I did get myself a nice ThermaPen a few weeks ago. I love it. My ribs are almost done. I will get some after pics up but here is a few from earlier

Did you get a platesetter? I think you will be happier with your ribs if you do them indirect next time. Check out this method for doing ribs:

No Platesetter. They were out. I will have those and the shelves next week. I wanted to do pancakes sunday morning on it but no platesetter :(
