i've been noticing lots of pictures posted here with cool "platesetters" for the mini. looks like most are re-sized pizza stones. how do you recommend cutting such pizza stones to fit the mini? do you use grinders or somethinng else?

Hi Mark, I have a mini Woo from the ceramic grill store
http://www.ceramicgrillstore.com/ceramicgrillstore/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=72&Itemid=236
and then I got the 2 pack of pizza stones from amazon.com
http://www.amazon.com/Old-Stone-Oven-4444-Stones/dp/B0000E1FDC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1246461051&sr=8-1
this was the best way to go for me. I like it because I have multiple uses from each item. and did not cost me much more than buying a large setter and redoing. -
Julie,
I went ahead and ordered the 2 baking stones off of Amazon.com (back ordered - but that's okay as I don't have the mini yet )
When I looked at the woo2 for the mini I didn't see any cross bars? I know Tom will build the woo2 just about any way you want it, so I'm wondering (yet again) how yours is set up using a baking stone and woo2 on the mini.
There's another egger out here, stike I believe?, that has a custom woo2 for the mini - I'll look up his old posts on the subject.
Thanks so much in advance. -
Hey Bill, mine has the two cross bars on it. think they just came with it. and when I ordered my stones this winter they were back ordered too.. and they showed up 4 days later LOL. I have the woo on my med in fl and I stole the small stone quite a few times as a heat buffer to set on the bottom bars and indirect. worked slick Julie

Hey Bill,,, I think it might be Kim (Vidalia1) with that setup.

Thanks Pat, no wonder I couldn't find it under stike.

You know now that I think about it. the med woo I have down there has bars but the mini woo does not. I got is just a month before we came home and I can not remember now LOL

Julie,
Glad to hear about the cross bars. I can see some usefulness from having a couple of 8.5" baking stones too. I know where to get the woo2 now I need to find a deal on the mini.
While I'm at it(must be all the coffee I drank this AM  )I'm planning to use my MBGE nest for the mini at least temporarily. Thinking about puttig a paver where the medium used to sit on the cross bars. Will need to look at stablitiy though  . Thoughts?
Thanks!
