Well, it's finally finished! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Here is a tour (I tried making a video on the Flip, but sounded too nerdy ):
Kitchen area (3 feet was added out from the existing porch for the egg cabinets - all screened). Also added a vent-a-hood (with halogen lights) above the eggs and (at the suggestion of "Sparky"), criss-crossing halogen track lights shining on the eggs):
Close-up of eggs
Working counter with frig. Decided on tile surfaces with minimal grout (cost savings over granite).
The Princess made the first decorating addition to the kitchen. Don't have a commemorative bottle opener yet (hint, hint).
Entertainment area.
Retractible TV.
Fireplace and sitting area.
Different view.
Decorative tilework on counter/bar.
Also on entertainment counter area.
Last shot included bar and kitchen, also showing pendulum mosaic lights, palm fans, and tongue & groove ceiling.
Now if this heat wave will pass, maybe we could use it more. 100* heat index this afternoon. Somebody PLEASE send us some rain!
I hope you enjoyed the pics. I appreciate all the help I got on this Forum with the design and organization of this project. Y'all are the best!
Now to begin to accumulate items to "spruce it up". Never be able to top the "Chicken Ranch", but it looks pretty barren at this point.

Wow, just`- Wow. It looks just incredible! I saw the before pics. I had no idea you were doing all this. Great job!
Best of luck to you in your new outdoor kitchen! I predict many fun days of outdoor cooking for you and your family. I wouldn't worry about the decor - I think it will come in time!

Tampa, FLHappily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!

Very nice Clark. I know you are glad to be finished. :woohoo: We are supposed to hit 98 ambient tomorrow and the heat index has been 102-105 all week. No good chance of rain in sight. I would be happy for a tropical depression right about now to cool things off a bit. The new shade will be nice.
-
Absolutely unbelievable...that is sweeeeeet :P
-
Thanks, Eddie. It is definitely shady, but being on the unprotected west side of the house, it still gets mighty hot on the porch, especially if I have an Egg going. When I was taking the pics (about a hour ago, it was 92* ambient next to the house, under the porch  ).
We have considered a portable A/C to help, as the fans only blow around the hot air, but I think we will wait out this unusual heat wave and see if it doesn't get a little better. At least I would wait til the end of the summer and get one at a discount. Consumer Reports 'dogs' them pretty bad, though.
A tropical depression sounds pretty good right now, just don't let that sucker escalate to hurricane status. Katrina came through here as a Class 1 hurricane (and we are almost 200 miles from the coast) ! -
That's freekin sweeeet Clark.
-
Thanks, Faith!
When this heat wave moves on, I think we will enjoy it more - 92* on the porch at 5 pm! -
Looks great Clark!!!!I honestly love it.I still have a lot of work to do on mine ,but at least I have a bottle opener :P  BTW:I also highly recommend a fire extinguisher  I hope the weather cools down so you can enjoy it more Now get cookin man!!! :woohoo:
-
Thanks, Kim! We had a BIG BBQ party Saturday (18-20 people) and it was sweet !
-
Thanks, Adam! Wish I had me some of your Minnesooota weather right now! (Not your winters, though  )
-
Thanks, Sparky.
I would love to have had the room for a large cabana-type kitchen like yours, but made due with converting an existing patio into the porch.
The tall cabinet under the small drawer on the left contains a fire extinguisher. I also had him put sheets of stainless on the surfaces under the eggs to help with spark dangers. Looking for a small shop-vac to fit in the cabinet under the small (have an electrical outlet in the back of that cabinet).
I'm looking forward to seeing your final pics! -
Wow! Turned out fabulous!! Enjoy!
-
Just a depression (at land fall) I shutter at the thought of cutting up more trees in this heat. I cut up a large Oak Saturday.

Very Nice Clark..I can only wish and

I was thinking the same thing after reading Eddies post about your heat index. We don't know what a heat index is. although we are very well versed in the "wind chill" factor. Imagine a wind chill of
-60. Funny thing is, the Egg doesn't give a hoot what the temp is. -
One word "magnificent"

Very nice!! I asked a contractor friend today about another carpenter to put my roof on & he said he would do it next weekend! He is very busy and works on million dollar projects. Thought I should get the roof on first. Is there anything you forgot? Does not look like it I am going to show him your pictures. My kitchen will be much more rustic. What type of wood are your cabinets made of?
-
Simply stunning!
-
how much is the rent, I might move in.....LOL.
great job. twww.ceramicgrillstore.com ACGP, Inc. -
Thanks, Dave. Just got the small going for some salmon tonight!
-
I can't imagine -60*.
I have skiied in -15* (sunshiny day) and that was almost too much for an ole southern boy!
Your right about that, except the "Egger" does ! -
I think he said birch.
He used a UV natural stain on the ceiling and cabinets.
Forgot? No. Too much good help here when I was planning. Just wish I had more room for more cabinets - they filled up pretty quickly. Didn't put a sink, cause (1) local coding is h#ll, and (2) to effectively clean 18" grids, it would have taken up too much counter space. -
Thanks, Hitch. Got the small stabilizing now for salmon.
-
Awww Mannn ! Thanks, Bubba TIm.
I've seen your outdoor kitchen and it is awesome! -
Thanks, John. Already enjoying it muchly!
-

The summer heat would change your mind! Got the fans going and a slight breeze form the south and the ambient temp in the porch is still 92* (7:30pm here). I think I need another canned adult beverage. :silly:
-
Tom,
You just reminded me I need to get a Woo 3 (or what ever the equivalent) for my small. Will place the order soon - also a grid extender for the large.
LOVE MY SPIDER and ADJUSTABLE RIG - use it on most all the cooks on my large!
Thanks for making these available! -
Thanks, Mike, And, your name reminded me to have another beer.
-
Now that is really nice Clark. Well worth waiting for.
-
Thanks, Ray.
