Rock's BBQ - Stoker Out of Business?

Just talked with them last week about my blower issue on my first cook and he said send it back and I will fix and return. Called today to confirm delivery and touch base and the number is out of service. Anyone talked with them lately? Crap...getting nervous now.

Web site still active, however, both phone and fax report out of service. CW might be correct.

emailed last week twice with no reply. Once ot notify him of my issue and the second time (after we discussed my blower issue on the telephone) to let him know it was on the way to him with a tracking number. I have emailed again. Also, someone at WSM has asked a similar question. Will let you know if I make contact.

It might be the phone company too and nothing to do with him or his bills

we had this happen to us last year for 3 days. and since our email is tied to our phone lines... no email, no fax and no phone. embarrassing and sounds lame saying it is them not us when we got it all back. we just had a big take over up here in Maine with fairpoint and verizon. a lot of people were with out anything for a couple of days. getting better but not much. LOL

True. A buddy told me when we switched from his local telephone company to digital phone via his cable company, they cut him off first. Who knows. Man, the thing worked so well I would hate to be without my fan. I might buy another as a fall back once this is resolved.

I saw Rock last weekend at a KCBS event in Bakersfield CA. He is still in buisness. I do not know when he was going back to Norcal.

John has always been a standup guy in the dealings that I've had with him. I'd give him the benefit of the doubt, even though in this economy, I'd be a bit curious too.

His site is up and running I am sure and able to take orders because it is independant from his pc and phone. We had the same issue. He just is not recieving them if his phone and pc is down, but he would be able to at another location that is what i had to do.

Not the first time I have heard stories of this. Would be interesting to order a product from them and Blues Hog and see which comes first.

Yep. Fully aware of that. He also finally got into a larger production. I have met Bill on numerous occasions. Fortunately the BBQ world is what it is. People willing to wait for product to arrive. If that product was available readily elsewhere, the I want it now attitude of Americans would have had these guys out of business as someone would go elsewhere to buy.

hmmm the phone was out of commission for about 4 hours today. We are still in business and in fact damn busy. We have started to ship new probes that include LEDS that indicate the alarm for that sensor (more sexy for people using multiple cookers and probes) All of the blowers we now ship also have LEDS so you know when your blower is cycling on and off. We are not dead just very busy trying to catch up.

Great News. You should have received my blower today. Very glad to read your are very busy. I couldn't be happier with your Stoker.

I did talk to Rocks BBQ last week and he said he would repair/replace my blower and get it out on Fri. It might be here for the weekend if I'm lucky. Just an FYI.
