I am working slowly through the burocracy of Aurora, and am now in communcations with "export manager" but it is taking days between contacts. I have no news on the possibilities, but the current plan is to either a) convince them to send a wholesale batch to mainegg or b) I would ship a large batch to mainegg which would be considerably more expensive I would guess as I would have to buy them retail. I may also have problems shipping commercial quantities with the FDA. All in all I trying really hard for a).
So far I have requests for:
4 cases for mainegg
4 bottles for loco_engr
1 case for cookin_biker via Grand Oeuf Vert
Please correct me if I'm wrong and is there anyone else? If we are going to do, we may as well do it big.

Have you talked to Little Steven?? He has been talking to them for some time now.

We've talked, more voices is better in my opinion.

Can you describe the taste, please? It looks to me like a spicy relish or piccalli. Am I wrong?
-
If you do a forum search there are pages and pages extolling the spicy yet savory flavour. for example http://www.eggheadforum.com/index.php?option=com_simpleboard&func=view&id=624374&catid=1. It's an antipasta, but is exemplary of it's type.

Doug - I would take 5 or 6 bottles.

Put me down for a case...I'm sure they're some local eggers who would be willing to throw in when the time arrives or should I say the case.LBGE Katy (Houston) TX

I'll take a case. Thanks for doing this, Doug.
The LaBomba Fairies gave me some, and it is really tasty. Hard to explain it. Let's just say it is a great ingredient on pizza, stuffed mushrooms, sandwiches, or even as a spread on crackers.

Doubt the FDA will be a concern. That would be customs or USDA. It's the UDSDA that controls imports of food; their APHIS (Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service) more specifically. But if this is canned/processed food you should have no issue. Cases are not "commercial" size. That would be when you move up to shipping whole pallets or containers of food. -
Thanks for the info. Starting to look like Aurora will cooperate, so we may move into the commercial volumes. Time will tell.

Doug,
Are you talking to Steve Lio? They have distribution in the US for the Alessia and Aurora brands. The last issue when I was talking to them was the US nutrition labelling.

Yes Steve has said they will ship La Bomba to the states in my last phone call with him. He's sending an information packet we'll see what it says.

Thank for your time and efforts!
