I cooke some'en: Pizza on the Medium

Getting a day off tomorrow so looks like an easy pizza anda few cold ones. It appears that cooking a pizza on a medium Egg is a little differant than on a large. Since a standard pizza pan fills the pizza stone edge to edge I have to rotate it on parchment papper about every 3 or 4 min. I get my stone up as high as possable and preheat at 400 for about 15 min. I also pull the temp probe up higher in the dome so as not to be in the pizza giving false readings. Since I am popping the top every 3 or 4 min. after Egg is hot the temp is really not that important as always adding to to the system. Just try to keep it between 300-425 rotating till crust is well brown and cheese is well melted. Slightly smaller than stone will help burning crust edges. Ok first the raws.
Sue, my almost 14 year old lab and Little Bitty, 14 also, are relaxing with the family.
Egg preheating and pie is ready with fresh bassel and Italian parsley from the garden.
Seem everyone is interested in supper. Even Fancy!!
About 15 to 20 min. later supper is done. Now where did I put that brew!

too much sake time to crash -
JL, that looks fantastic! Thanks for the detailed post. I haven't tried pizza on my medium yet. One of these days. Pizza is not on my diet but is always on my wish list.
I love the photos of the animals, you can tell they are all family members and well loved.

JL,
I guess the "Fairness Doctrine" mandates that Jake give up some face time for the other critters! Great looking dinner.

JL,
Good looking pie! I am doing one myself tonight. Doing it on the lg though as I got a butt going on the med. I am using Zippy's dough and Fidel's sauce. How'd you like that pre made dough? The crust looks great! -
Gater I can't have young'uns and seems the human is going to have "kids" one way or the other. Only thing sad is as a rule they don't live as long which leaves you open to a whole lot of hurt but its worth it. Cept Jake. He's like the entergizer bunny. He keeps going and going!

It actually does pretty good. When you spend half the day in a full chem suit and gas mask in 90 degree temps the last thing you want is complicated. We had ammonia spread on the place today as well so fast and tastie was the way to go!
-
I agree 100%, they are worth the heart ache when they are gone, but enjoy them while you have them... Jake, might be the exception to the rule...
-
How did that pie survive that close to the ground with Rover hanging around? :woohoo: Nice pie.

Young William. Sounds like a fun time was had tonight at the Sushi hut!! Get some sleep. Some diseased gums are waiting for you tomorrow!
-
We did everything outside tonight. This time of year Jake is not allowed outside even in cage as sketters are bad and can carry West Nile. Not worth the chance with my little buddy!
-
JL...you are in heaven.......& that 'za is beautiful!!!!
-
All my "kids" know there loved BUT know whose the boss. Sue doesn't enjoy having tough love! How else can Andy and Jake set in my lap at the same time!

Thanks Beli. I don't think eather one of us really is suffering to much partner. Good Lord has blessed us both.

Great looking pizza JL, and some handsome animals you have there, in my other life I had a ranch in Acton Ca.

Great looking pie.
We have a black lab as well, they are such good pals.
I can see Sue is well taken care of she doesn't look a day over 6.
Could you please tell me where you got that rig that gets that pie sitting up so high.
I could really use one of those. -
I see that you let kitteh out of the cage for a bit, and your pie looks outstanding. Doesn't seem like it's too dry in your area there judging by the looks of the grass and the background in some of the pics.
That is a mighty fine looking ring you got that pizza sitting on, too Enjoy your day off, my friend -
Yummy looking za and place you have JL. Nicely done!Molly

It was an early prototype for adjustable rig I believe for a small. One of these days I'm getting a small and a friend knew I was so he gave me this to use. Still havent got that small but it works great with the Mediumm Egg pizza stone to get'er on up there. -
Great looking pizza JL...and I love the pics of the "family"
