It better be the 16th meet and greet, and Fest the 17th, or we're gonna lose bunch of money on air fare!
-
That's the dates the hotel has blocked off. Oct 16-17th..
-
Michelle,
If it is not you can have my rooms for free. Tucker is a nice place to visit.

I'm with you on that Michelle.
-
Looks like we're all set on the dates....phew!
Steven...never posted your salt crusted whole salmon. How did it turn out for you?? -
Michelle,
I froze it. Didn't have enough Kosher salt. I'll post when I do it. I bought a huge CI pan that fits on the large that I was going to do it in.

Here's an eggtoberfest question. Is there transpostation from the hotel to the fest?
-
Transportation!
-
Yes..in fact that is the only way to get there. No parking at the fest location.
They run buses non-stop all day. It is only about 1/2 mile, I've walked it each year.
Cooks are allowed to drop off their stuff before the registration begins -- or you can load it into the cargo area of the bus. -
Perfect! Beers on me!
-
I would hold you to that...but beer is included at the fest......if you can stand to wait in that line.
I promise my tent will have plenty of coolers full of beer...come by and say hi. -
How far is the hotel to the airport?
-
About 35 miles.
-
Thank ya Lawd!!! That was just for you LC...
I am also thankful that the dates are correct, more importantly...
Are adult beverages/water, etc available on-site, or do you need to bring all of that with you? -
Michelle, don't you Stevies rules on posting. If there aren't pictures it probably didn't happen. LOL!! I was told that by Steve and Poolman the other night when I said I made 2 briskets but didn't take pics. So he's probably just saying he made the salmon. :woohoo:

I take it that it's the Atlanta airport? I'm not trying to sound stupid, but I haven't a clue!
-
beer, water, and soft drinks will be available.
if you cook you can bring a cooler full of whatever you want. -
Yes. There is only one in Atlanta.
Imagine the face of a clock. The airport is at 6:00, Tucker is at 2:00. -
Got it. Thanks! I used to live in Macon many years ago. Georgia is a very beautiful state.I don't want to bother you with so many questions so early, but how about one more?If I decide to cook, is there a store nearby to buy the things I'll need?
-
Anna G,
If you want to stand in line for an hour for watery Bud...beer is available. I would bring a cooler of your preferred beverage

Soooo.... I need to sign up to cook to bring in a cooler with desired adult beverages? I only have one thing that is a little different, but not really, beef stew on the egg... How do you get a dutch oven through the airlines?
Everything else I cook is plain ole stuff... -
Anna,
I'm sure if you asked nice, one of the Atlanta guys would lend you a pan.

Wear it as a hat! NOBODY messes with a ladies' :cheer: hat!
-
Hee hee, I thought that was only in Kentucky! Just got back from there a week after the Derby... Everything was still Derby related, sorry...
-
it's Atlanta. There are stores everywhere.
A good side trip is to visit the Dekalb Farmers Market. -
I can ask nice enough, Southern Charm remember... but I don't think they are going to have a dutch oven lying around... Of course, I have never been, so I don't have a clue!!!
-
I'll bring a few dutch ovens. I bring way too much stuff.
I've been known to loan mine out to people that burn a bunch of trash in theirs by mistake as they are pre-heating them. -
You are a good ole Southern Gent then! I guess I will sign up to cook and then wing it after that...
-
I'll second that one Rod, we went there last year and I wish I had about 4 more hours to explore, and a jacket. -RP
-
Anna,
Talk about Southern Charm. Watch that one!
