Ok taking the plunge and ordering new gasket material tomorrow. going with the stuff Mike and Tim have used. My question is is how much does it take to go around each egg. not a math wiz here so don't give me a big formula to figure out. I am doing all the eggs plus mom and dads and a friends. so between us all we have 3 larges, 8 mediums, 2 smalls and 4 minis. almost our own egg fest! if anyone has how much they used on any of the sizes I can add it all up thanks so much Julie

I would use a cloth measuring tape around each egg to figure the distances. For that many eggs might be cheaper to purchase an entire roll.
I think it would be a lot harder trying to figure out how much beer and adhesive it will take.

Circumference (perimeter) of a circle = 3.14 x diameter (width)
-
Large you need 67.5"
Medium you need 56.5"
Mini you need 38"
I don't have a small so I can't do the math for you, but I would guess about 48".
Add them together, then add 10% just to be on the safe side. -
Measure the outside diameter (straight across) where the gasket will go and multiply by 3.14 (Pi). I would add 2 inches to that so you can bunch up the material as you install it. That is the length you need for each surface so multiply that by 2 to get what you need for each egg.

If she chooses to do rutland or cotronics material then only the base surface should be done. No need to put those materials on the base and on the dome.

I just KNEW someone would put Pi  in there I only do apple or blueberry  thanks guys. that is what I needed. it comes in 50 foot rolls and we figured we might as well do them all. but I did not want to get 2 and need one more :( I would rather have some left for future eggs.....
so I only need to do the base and not the top????? Mike or Tim???? -
and it is the Cotronics I am getting.

If using 1/16" thick non-adhesive backed cotronics,(Thermeez #397-41) then you will need to install on top and bottom. Have installed on three Eggs.

happy with it Mike?

I have a Rutland on my medium and had to put it both on the top and bottom pieces. One side only was not sufficient to close the gap even when adjusting the bands to the fullest extent.

Oops hit the backspace. :S

OK this is why I said no big math problems here. I just gave myself a heart attack!! I figured it all up and figured I needed 30 rolls of this stuff!!!! :( I forgot to convert inches to feet I need about 1700 inches to do them all top and bottom.

More than just happy...
