Egged food without lighting the BGE......

This weekend we made two meals that were "egg" meals.[p]The first was pizza and calzones. We have done these exclusivily on the egg until Friday. It was cold and wet and late so we cooked them on a stone in our oven. No comparison. Egged pizza is much better.[p]Saturday night it was still cold. We wanted a cold weather meal so we made gumbo on the stove. The andouille sausge we used was some we had smoke on the egg about 2 months ago and froze. After a quick defrosting in the microwave these sausages sliced up well and added a hint of smokiness to a terrific gumbo. (The recipe we use comes from the local paper and is by a jockey who was the chef/owner at a cajun restaurant here in Louisville. His reccipes have been handed down from previous generations.)[p]Anyway, to lessons about how egged food is always better. And we never lit a match.[p]Fritz
