some birds will come back year to year, i had a hummingbird return or its young return every year for just about ten years. this years ice storm destroyed the nest and i havent seen them yet. what kind of owl is itfukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

what wonderful birds! and WHOOOO wouldn't want to come back to that yard???

Keep your kitties or puppies in the house long before dusk. Owls are very efficient and oppertunistic preditors.

Thanks Julie...We have really enjoyed them the last 2 years.

Same to you Mike...Hope you can make it to Atlanta this year.

Hi Larry,
Great photos! This Barred Owl let me photograph it in Corkscrew Swamp in Naples, Florida. Corkscrew is one of my favorite places on the face of the earth, you would think you had stepped back in time several million years.
This one is holding his breakfast, a huge green caterpillar. You have a great looking yard, I don't blame them for coming back.
Gator -
I was about 20 ft away from her.
Larry -
Nice picture and we may have to plan a trip to the Corkscrew Swamp.
Larry -
Thanks Barry...They do have a lot of food and a creek runs through the very back of our yard.I think thats why they come back.
Larry -
Hey Tom I cook with the top down when they are close around.LOL
Larry -
I wonder how many times they've tried to pick up the concrete rabbit!!

22 inches! They'd fit perfect on my XL! Spatchcock owl anyone?
Just kidding of course. Owls are beautiful creatures. I hear them quite often here but seldom see them in the wild. I do see hawks and the occasional bald eagle though! -
We hear them all year but only see them about 2 months a year when they have babies. We also have bald eagles at the lake here.
Larry -
Thats funny...They have plenty to eat here.
