Does anyone have pics of an EGG after the gasket has been removed?
I have been cleaning mine for about 2 hours.

Hey Greg, here's a pic of my 5 yr. old medium after a lot of scrubbing :pinch:

I didn't take a pic when I cleaned mine, just figured when the rag was clean after wiping with 91% alcohol
and the place where the old gasket came off from still had some dark places on it . . . figured it was as good as I could get it. That was month and a 1/2 ago and all is well.aka marysvilleksegghead

Thanks, I was wondring, too, if I could get off all of the dark spots.

Wow, Doug!! How did you get it that clean??

Just been down that road twice. I have a relatively new XL and have experienced the adhesive issues. I had replaced with the felt and super 77 adhesive. Tried cleaning the super 77 with acetone. (What a job) Had some Xylol and gave it a try. Much better at removing the adhesive. Would suggest using it for the removal of your old adhesive.

Hey Greg,I used a putty knife to remove the old gasket, then acetone,a razorblade and a few rags.No powertools were used, but it was alot of work :pinch:
-
Power tools???...who uses power tools to clean their EGG?
-
With the dome off & using 91% alcohol and a 2" wide stiff putty knife it should take about 20 to 30 minutes to clean top & bottom of a large. Not much work at all.
I have posted the steps I use 3 or 4 times this last few weeks.
Different stages are shown in this picture
Whenever I use acetone it takes a lot of work.
Heat also works well in removal.

For some reason, I can not see the pics.
